Undergraduate Scholarships for Out-of-State Residents

Minimum Criteria

First-Time Freshmen

(Fewer than 12 semester hours of college course work completed and have no need for remedial course work in English or Math)

Chancellor Scholarship
27 or higher ACT (SAT I 1210 or higher) and 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA Full in-state tuition (if not covered by another scholarship), full non-resident fee exemption, $500 book allowance, full meal stipend, $4370 credit toward on-campus housing
Iberville Scholarship
27 or higher ACT (SAT I 1210 or higher) and 3.0-3.49 cumulative GPA Full in-state tuition (if not covered by another scholarship) and full non-resident fee exemption
St. Charles Scholarship
23 or higher ACT (SAT I 1060) and 2.7 or higher cumulative GPA Full non-resident fee exemption
Pontchartrain Scholarship
23 or higher ACT (SAT I 1060) and 2.5-2.69 cumulative GPA $5000 non-resident fee exemption
Pontalba Scholarship
20-22 ACT (SAT I 940-1050) and 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA $2500 non-resident fee exemption

Transfer Students

(18 or more semester hours of transferable college course work completed and no need for remedial course work in English or Math)*

* Transfer students with fewer than 18 transferable college semester hours must satisfy both freshman and transfer eligibility requirements

Alternate Criteria for International First-time Freshmen Who Do Not Meet the Above Criteria

(Fewer than 12 semester hours of college course work completed; minimum TOEFL score of 540 paper or 207 computer based test or equivalent if from non-English speaking country; completion of a recognized secondary program comparable to U.S. high school graduation)

Students who meet the above criteria will automatically be considered for a scholarship if an application for admission, test scores and transcripts are on file by the March 1 priority date. There is no special scholarship application to be filed and letters of recommendation and essays are not required.

Undergraduate students who obtain scholarships under these criteria must maintain full time status each academic year with a minimum UNO cumulative GPA of 2.75 to retain the scholarship.
